SPORTS In Your Senior Photos!

Friends, I want to tell the story of your High-School career! If you play a sport, that is usually a HUGE part of your time and we should definitely capture the sports you love. We can showcase one, two or all the sports you’ve played.

I’ve photographed so many different sports and wanted to show you a few of them. Track, Football, Cheer, even weightlifting and crossfit! We can customize and create photos about anything you’re passionate about- whether or not it is a school sport.

Before your session, we plan the perfect location- you school, your gym, a field- really anywhere you play! Your senior photos are a way to highlight the pieces of you that mean the most and my guess is that you spent quite a few hours practicing your sport, so why not make sure you remember all that hard work in your portraits? Miranda | Ceres High Senior Portraits

How gorgeous is this High School Senior!? We did a destination session in Carmel, CA and it (of course) was the perfect location for this beauty. Let me know if you are looking for a destination session and we can make it happen.

The outfits Miranda chose at our styling consult were really cute, and I LOVED the blue jumpsuit and yellow romper she chose from the WVP Style Closet. (PS- the jumpsuit was purchased from a cute little boutique in Downtown Turlock called Glitz.)

We ended the day on the beach in Carmel-by-the-Sea with the sunset. So perfect.

Miranda also wanted a few photos at the pumpkin patch in Turlock and I jumped at the chance! I adore fall portraits.

Alyssa | Orestimba High School Senior

My session with Alyssa was so fun! It was ages ago, but the photos turned out so cute that I need to share!

We planned all of alyssa’s outfits before hand at her fashion consultation and she chose to wear THE CUTEST jumpsuit from a local boutique here in Turlock. I love supporting other small businesses in our Central Valley!

We went south of Turlock to the river and got all the gorgeous spring greens for Alyssa’s Senior Portraits!

3 Tips to help you choose a Senior Photographer

Friends, I’ve been a photographer for over 20 years, in business for 10 years, and specializing in High-School Senior Photography for 7 years. It’s been a RIDE! I’ve seen and tried and learned a thing or two in my career! And I’m ready to share all my secrets and tell you all the things you need to know to choose the senior photographer that is right for you.

#1: Don’t choose based on price alone

The age old saying “You get what you pay for” can usually be applied when choosing your photographer. Senior pictures are a right of passage, and you deserve the FULL EXPERIENCE! Look for a photographer who has a package that will help you prep, plan, and create an amazing memory, as well as great photos.

#2: Check out a FULL GALLERY of photos from whomever you’re choosing

You might be looking for “just one great photo” for the yearbook, but for your full session? No WAY! You want a photographer who can consistently produce an entire session worth of great images. This means consistently great lighting, poses that make you look gorgeous, and an awesome variety of images.

#3: Make sure your photographer is an actual professional

Guess, what my senior friends (and my mom’s of senior friends!) You are right in the middle of a once-in-a-lifetime-event. What do I mean by that? You can’t get this time back! This year is SPECIAL. You’ve got the rest of your life to be an adult. This is your ONE last year to be a kid before adulthood comes in like lightning.
There’s only a few types of photos that really can’t be reproduced later on… Newborn pictures, wedding pictures, and senior pictures. You’re only a senior ONCE. This is your time to shine.
Hiring an experienced, educated photographer is so important to make sure that this time of your life is documented well. You don’t want cousin Suzie with an i-pad and a dream trying to capture the spirit and beauty of this time with bad lighting and orange pre-sets.
Pro photographers know where to find incredible light, how to pose you perfectly, and how to capture who you are right now- in this moment. Plus, we know how to take high quality images that will stand the test of time vs. some low quality, fuzzy pics that won’t make it the next few years.

Natalie | Atwater Senior Portraits

Guys….. if I’m 3 years behind it’s only because I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME SKIP SESSIONS! My brain won’t let me and I am pretty sure the world deserves to see these gorgeous senior portrait sessions!

Meet Lily! | Turlock, CA High School Senior

Oh, my goodness. It’s been a few years since my session with Lily, but I HAD to highlight it. It is STILL one of my favorite Senior Portrait sessions to date. Her outfits were so fun and diverse, and I loved all her locations!

We started in Downtown Turlock with Lily’s Pitman High Sweater and two props that were important in her life! She chose to bring her pointe shoes and the trap for her marching band clarinet. So cute.

And how cute are these shoes and this dress???? Our street shots on Main Street in Turlock turned out so adorable as well.

Our next location is a local favorite! We went down to the river out at Knights Ferry and got some DREAMY light for Lily’s river photos.

Our last location was downtown Modesto with Lily in Ballerina attire! Are you swooning yet?

Meet Julia | Newman, CA High School Senior

This girl was just a beauty, and so fun to work with. She was a 2020 High School Senior from Newman, CA. She graduated from Newman High and is now attending Cal Berkeley. I absolutely loved working with Julia and adored her bubbly personality and outgoing nature. She was up for anything and was always positive.

She had her hair and makeup done by Ramona and we did her first round of photos in downtown Turlock. I love the brick and stone backgrounds with her cute outfits!

Afterward, we went south of Turlock to the river and I LOVED the cute hat Julia chose to pair with her black romper.

Julia was on my senior team, and her solo session could not have been better! She is an amazing girl, and has gone on to do AMAZING THINGS!

Senior Models - Class of 2020 | Turlock, California

FRIENDS! This shoot was as close to dreamy as they come. I planned for months to do our first senior model team photoshoot at Pageo Lavender farm in Turlock, CA.

This senior photography shoot is actually super old, haha! I am 2 years behind. Yes….. you read that right….. 2 whole years. BUT that doesn’t mean that these gorgeous images don’t deserve a permanent spot on my blog.

These models from 2020 went to high-school all over the central valley. From Atwater to Turlock to Ceres and Modesto, they all showed up and looked GORG for me on every team shoot.

My vision for this shoot was stripes, blues, creams, and whites. I guess I was going for a “french cottage” vibe.

Makeup was done by Ramona Bianco and she did such a beautiful job. You can check out the video (that features all my high-school senior models as well as Ramona doing their makeup) that we made about our shoot here if you’d like to.

It was SUCH a fun day and one of my favorite model shoots EVER!

D Family | Extended Family Session | Turlock Family Photography

Look at this gorgeous blended family! If you live in Turlock, chances are you know them or have gone to school with one of their 11 kiddos!

We did some photos and mom ordered a GORGEOUS large canvas for her wall. I love offering products for my clients because it takes the stress out of the entire process. Especially with canvas prints, the specifications for the edges, the wrap-around, and the dimensions can be a huge headache to get right. If you want prints that look impeccable instead of DIY, give me a call! I take all that off your hands for you. I can extend the edge so that your feet (or head!) doesn’t get cut off and it looks perfect and lasts forever.

Meet Lillyanna | Murphy's CA Destination Session

Lillianna was one of the sweetest seniors ever! She is a graduate of Central Valley High School in Ceres. I loved taking her Senior Portraits and loved planning with her to create her dream destination session to Murphys, California. She and her mom definitely had a vision for her session and I think we made it happen! We started off with her cute puppies at a park in Turlock and then drove up to Murphys and the amphitheater there. During the spring they have tons of gorgeous flowers everywhere and some of my favorite photos to showcase Lillianna and her beauty were the ones with the flowers!

We also went to the downtown area in Murphys and the river! The photos of Lillyanna were STUNNING and I was so excited to see the gorgeous sun coming through and highlighting her beauty.
